I served in the U.S. Air Force from 1983 to 1987. During that time, my arches fell because of the poorly made combat boots we had to trudge around in for miles every day. I’ve experienced foot, ankle, leg and back pain ever since. I’ve experienced muscular, joint and tendon injuries including two torn and surgically repaired achilles tendons. If I had to put the pain on a scale from 1 being lowest to 10 being highest, I’d say my back pain has bounced around from a 3 to an 8 for the past 30 years. I’ve tried a lot of treatments with little or no success. Yoga and proper nutrition helps, but only so much. Several times, I’ve considered having surgery, but the risks are too great. I try to avoid pain pills because of the risks of addiction and side effects. I’ve had to eliminate running, jumping and sports I love like soccer and basketball from my physical activities. Recently, through the VA, I was able to get treatments at Dr. Harold Kraft’s Laser MD Pain Relief clinic in Santa Monica. When I started going there, my pain levels were bouncing around between a 5 and 8, but after about a dozen deep tissue laser therapy treatments, my pain levels started to decrease and now I’m hovering around a 2, which is a real blessing. I’ll keep you posted on my progress. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND DR. KRAFT. My quality of life has increased tremendously, affecting not only my physical health but also my mental health. Not having to fight through excruciating pain on a daily basis has made a huge difference. Dr. Kraft and his entire team truly understand and care about veterans, which means a lot to me. In addition to the amazing work they are doing to treat pain, they are pioneering the use of laser treatments for PTSD and they are dedicating a tremendous amount of their time and energy to care for veterans, first responders and others who have served our country. If you’re in pain, see Dr. Kraft. Don’t just take it from me, check out the testimonials on his website and go see for yourself what a difference their people and their technology can make for you. — A.J.
